How does the HXGN□-12 ring network switchgear operate?

2025-07-23 15:09:12

HXGN□-12 type ring network switchgear is an indoor AC high voltage electrical equipment widely used in 10kV power distribution system. It is mainly used in ring network power supply, terminal power supply or double radiation power distribution system. It has the characteristics of compact structure, easy operation and high safety. The following is a detailed description of its operating principle and main features:

blog-1-1

1. Basic structure and composition

Cabinet structure

Metal-enclosed box design is adopted, and the protection level is usually IP2X or IP3X. The internal compartments are divided into:

High-voltage room: Install load switches, disconnectors, fuses, etc.

Bus room: Connect the ring network bus.

Cable room: Incoming and outgoing cable connections.

Instrument room (optional): Install relay protection and monitoring devices.

Core components

Load switch: SF6 or vacuum arc extinguishing type is commonly used, used for the separation and combination of normal load current.

High-voltage fuse (such as combined electrical appliances): Protect transformers and other equipment, and quickly fuse in case of short circuit.

Grounding switch: Closed during maintenance to ensure the safety of line grounding.

Mechanical interlocking device: Prevent misoperation (such as closing the grounding switch with power on).

2. Operation principle

Normal power supply mode
The load switch is closed, and the current supplies power to the load through the busbar → load switch → cable.
When the ring network is running, the power can be input from the busbars on both side
s to improve the reliability of power supply.

Fault protection
Overload or short circuit: the fuse melts under the short-circuit current, the linkage load switch trips, and the fault circuit is cut off.
Relay protection (if configured): CT/PT detects abnormalities and triggers the trip.

Operation process
Power supply: first close the disconnector, then the load switch.
Power outage: first open the load switch, then the disconnector, and finally close the grounding switch (during maintenance).

3.Typical operation scenario

Ring network power supply

Multiple HXGN cabinets are connected in series through busbars to form a ring network. In case of a fault, the faulty section can be isolated by switching the load switch, and the non-faulty section continues to be powered.

Terminal power supply

As the terminal cabinet of the radial network, it directly supplies power to the transformer or user and relies on fuse protection.

4.Safety and maintenance

Five-protection interlock

Ensure the correct operation sequence, for example:

When the load switch is closed, the grounding switch cannot be closed.

When the cable room door is not closed, the load switch cannot be operated.

Maintenance points

Regularly check the SF6 gas pressure (if applicable), mechanical interlock, and cable joint temperature.

After the fuse is blown, it needs to be replaced with the same specification model

5.Advantages

High reliability: modular design, low failure rate.

Flexible expansion: PT cabinet, metering cabinet and other modules can be added.

Space saving: smaller in size than traditional switch cabinets.
