What are the standard safety procedures for operating the switch cabinet?

2026-03-02 16:24:23

Switch cabinets usually refer to high and low voltage switch cabinets, which are cabinets for complete sets of high and low voltage equipment. Generally, the high voltage cabinet supplies power, which is then transferred to the low voltage cabinet for distribution via a transformer. The complexity of the installation is incomparable to that of individual high and low voltage cabinets. This requires that the operation be carried out in accordance with the requirements, and any faults must be repaired in a timely manner.

blog-1-1

Among the most common accidents occurring in high-voltage switchgear, cable termination failures are the most frequent cause. In both high- and low-voltage switchgear cabinets, the problem often stems from defects in the cable terminations during installation. Therefore, a partition should be placed between the cable face and the compartment to prevent the accident from spreading. Gaps in the high-voltage switchgear enclosure should be minimized to prevent arc smoke from blackening equipment in adjacent compartments during operation or accidents. Many other electrical accidents are also caused by poor manufacturing and installation quality of the high-voltage switchgear, such as inadequate sealing, misaligned installation, and malfunctioning interlocking devices.

For high and low voltage switchgear cabinets, if individual components are installed misaligned, moving the trolley will be difficult when changing its operating state (e.g., from working position to maintenance position, or from maintenance position back to working position). In this case, the operator needs to use considerable force to pull the trolley, which can easily damage the isolating switch contacts or porcelain components.

Improper installation and debugging of the mechanical parts of the switchgear interlocking device may lead to operator error and serious accidents. Inadequate sealing of the switchgear allows moisture and dust to infiltrate. Especially in outdoor high-voltage switchgear, significant moisture intrusion can cause flashover on the insulation surface.

Following the above procedures will prevent machine malfunctions. If any malfunctions not mentioned above occur, report them immediately. Do not attempt to operate the equipment haphazardly, as this can cause further problems and malfunctions, significantly reducing the lifespan of the switch cabinet. Understanding the standard operation of switch cabinets starts now.

High and low voltage switch cabinets effectively protect the internal wiring, resulting in a neat and organized appearance. The wiring is neatly concealed, and the cabinet is isolated from flammable materials, effectively preventing electric shocks and other accidents. Please handle and maintain the cabinet carefully. If any malfunction occurs, always seek professional repair.
